England v India four match test cricket series has began at Lord’s. Winning the toss of the first match of the series, India invited the host for batting first. Skipper Andrew Strauss taking with Alastair Cook opened the innings. Kevin Pietersen played a brilliant innings of two hundred two runs and was the top scorer of England side. England declared their first innings scoring four hundred seventy four runs. Indian bowler Praveen Kumar took five wickets in forty point three overs.
In reply, India started well but collapse in middle order and they could not reach three hundred. Rahul Dravid was the top scorer of Indian side with century.
